Dunbar Science Festival 2016

March 2016: Researchers from MRC CIR are taking activities based on allergy; the effect of the gut microbiome on obesity and targeted cancer therapies to Dunbar Science Festival.

March 5 & 6 (Sat & Sun) 10am – 5pm Dunbar Primary School and Bleachingfield Community Centre.

Join Scientists from the MRC Centre for Inflammation Research and Cancer Research UK at Dunbar SciFest Weekend to take on the “rash decision” allergy ball pit game; see if you could help us destroy the cancer cells and work out whether the “bad” bugs in your gut make you fat and “good” bugs keep you thin? Your immune system is AMAZING and can protect you from infection and keep you healthy but what happens to cause allergies? How can Scientists use the immune system to fight Cancer? Does what you eat alter whether you have “good” bugs or “bad” bugs in your body? Scientists from the University of Edinburgh need your help to tackle all these questions during this fun, immersive and interactive workshop! Suitable for ages 8+
