Institute of ideas debating matters competition

January 2013: Donald Davidson was invited to participate as a judge for the Fife & Stirling Qualifying rounds

The Institute of Ideas Debating Matters Competition is a contest for school and college students aged 16-19, supported by the MRC and the Wellcome Trust. It is different from traditional debating; dispensing with points of order or points of information and attaching primary importance to the content of a students argument, encouraging young people to engage in real world debate, avoiding semantic game-play.

Donald Davidson was invited to participate as a judge for the Fife & Stirling Qualifying rounds, judging the debates on the genetic screening of embryos and funding of political parties.
