CIR research features on front cover of New Scientist

March 2019: New Scientist's cover story on 16th March entitled 'Let the Sunshine In' featured Dr Richard Weller's work on UV's effects on Cardiovascular Health

Associate Investigator Dr Richard Weller working at the CIR has identified a mechanism by which sunlight mobilises nitric oxide from stores in the skin, with beneficial effects on blood pressure and metabolic syndrome.  This has helped spur a current re-assessment as to the benefits - and not just risks - of sunlight exposure for the general population.  New Scientist's front cover and main article covered this debate and Richard's work.
