PhD student shortlisted for Max Perutz Science Writing Award

September 2018: EPSRC Proteus IRC / OPTIMA PhD student Helen Parker has been shortlisted for a prestigious writing prize.

Helen beat off competition from over 120 applicants to be one of just ten articles that have been shortlisted for this year’s Max Perutz Science Writing Award, the Medical Research Council’s annual writing competition. Her short essay is named "Coughs and sneezes spread drug-resistant diseases”

The winner, who will receive a £1,500 prize, will be announced at the awards ceremony on 25 October at the Royal Institution, London.
