March 2009: Workshop 'Viruses, Bioterrorism and Science in the Media' for school children in Edinburgh In autumn 2008/spring 2009 Paul Fitch, a Postdoc at the Centre for Inflammation Research, and Julio Rodriguez, a PhD student studying Virology at Summerhall, developed and presented a 2-hour workshop on Viruses, Bioterrorism and Science in the Media. This workshop was conducted with school children in Edinburgh, both by invitation to the University and at their schools. These workshops were incorporated as part of the Science Communication in Action course and as part of the Kick start scheme run by Edinburgh University. Presentations and workshops are intended to entertain, enthuse and to encourage secondary school students to attend university. Publication date 07 Sep, 2016
