March 2017: The Centre's new educational resource 'Supercytes' was presented to High School Biology teachers at a Scottish Schools Education Research Centre CPD Training event. MRC CIR researchers, Donald J Davidson, Cathy Hawley and Elena Dora, presented our new inflammation and immunology educational resource Supercytes to 22 High School Biology teachers from all over Scotland at a Scottish Schools Education Research Centre CPD Training event at the Roslin Institute on 7 March 2017. The free Supercytes game and resource pack, which will be launched soon for use in academic year 2017-2018, was very enthusiastically received, with all 22 teachers feeding back that they would definitely use it, requesting to be early adopters, and providing some really helpful thoughts. The event was co-ordinated by Nicolas Stock and arranged by Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC), with funding from Research Councils UK to reimburse schools for the costs of getting in staff to cover the teacher’s absence for the day, event catering and resources for the teachers to take back to school.
