As part of this year's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, several members of the University of Edinburgh were recognised on the Queen's Birthday Honour list for their achievements and the impact they have had on society. The Centre for Inflammation's Chair of Medical Education, Professor David Kluth, was awarded an OBE for his services to Medical Education. It was a wonderful surprise to be awarded an O.B.E. The last couple of years have been a challenge to keep medical students’ training on track and this honour is a recognition of the importance of medical education. I would like to thank the administrative staff and my academic colleagues for all their help and the students for their continued brilliance.
