General entry requirements Applicants must have at least a UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in a discipline relevant to the PhD of their interest. It is expected that this would include in the areas of biomedical sciences, neuroscience, physiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell biology, biological sciences, epidemiology, genetics, health Informatics, mathematics and psychology. English language requirements Submitting an application APPLICATION DEADLINE Monday, 9 January at 5pm Each PhD from within the ERUK-DTC will be advertised as individual PhDs on FindaPhD.com. Current Research Projects Once you have identified the PhD that interests you email the required documents directly to the Principal Investigator for the PhD that you are interested in with “ERUK-DTC application” in the email subject line: Curriculum vitae Personal statement (approximately one page) – detailing your reasons for wanting to undertake the PhD project and what you would bring to it Optional: we would welcome a short additional document providing any further information you would like to be considered (approximately 150 words maximum), such as special circumstances related to your studies/employment, whether you attended a school that does not have a track record of students going to University, or anything else you would like us to know about, but have not mentioned elsewhere. Completed references from two referees, sent in pdf format, are also needed. It is your responsibility to contact each of these referees and ask them to complete and submit a reference to the Principal Investigator of your selected PhD project; email contact details would be in the FindaPhD advertisement. Subject line should specify “Reference for [applicant's name] ERUK DTC”. You are encouraged to send your referees the "Reference Guidelines", which can be download below. Document CLaH Reference Guidelines (594.86 KB / PDF) Please pay careful attention to the deadline for the receipt of applications and make sure your references have been submitted by your referees before the application deadline above. Academic transcripts of degree courses and copies of degree certificates with final classification are not required at application stage, but will be requested if you are selected for interview. These documents should be provided in English or with an official translation. Applicants are welcome to contact the supervisors of the PhD that they are interested in. The sepcific projects advertised are for a programme start date in September 2023.
